Event Round Up
Spa & Wellness World: A grand success
In
its second edition, Spa and Wellness World, which occupied an exclusive pavilion
at HospitalityWorld Mumbai 2008, received a good response. The booming Indian
economy and growing disposable income and changing lifestyle amongst the Indian
demography have significantly given a boost to the demand for luxury spas, day
spas and medi-spas. The industry is showing an annual growth of over 25 per
cent to 30 per cent and holds huge potential in years to come. The objective
of the exclusive Spa and Wellness pavilion was to offer a platform to the Indian
spa and wellness industry to interact, network and transact business in one
of the booming sectors of Indian hospitality.
The exhibition was thus aimed at spa and wellness professionals, individual
spa owners, hoteliers, real estate developers, architects, interior designers
and spa consultants. The event offered an opportunity and exposure to network
with a highly captive audience under one roof.
Concurrent to the event, Spa and Wellness World also hosted a seminar - Spa
and Wellness 360 degrees seminar- which was attended by leading spa therapists
and spa managers from four and five-star spas. The speakers at the seminar included
Dr Purnima Mhatre of Gorgeous Skin Care Clinic, Dr Malini Chaudhari, principal
of Lmabency Chrysalis Academy, Dr B Rajesh Srinivas, president of Sohum Spas,
Falguni Harkisandas, founder of Jivaka Thai Yoga Foundation, Dr Pratiksha Reegdeb,
chairperson of ITC Heartcare Centre and Dr Sonia Tekchandani, a cosmetic dermatologist.
The main focus of the seminar was the advent and growth of medi-spas in India,
and the various medical treatments that can be imbibed within the parameters
of the spa. The seminar also focused on the integral subject of human resources.
This event presented an ideal platform to connect with a
business class that comprised of decision-makers and individuals who recommend
and influence brand purchase in institutional markets in India.
