Golden Leaf Restaurant undergoes a makeover
The
Golden Leaf restaurant at the Conrad Hong Kong has reopened following a makeover.
The new design of the Golden Leaf Restaurant, part of a US$ 20 million master
renovation for the hotel, blends contemporary flair with traditional Chinese
elegance. The restaurant has been redesigned by internationally acclaimed designer
Glenn Texeira. Dennis Clarke, managing director and general manager of the Conrad
Hong Kong says he was delighted to unveil the new design of the Golden Leaf
Restaurant. "This upgrade further increases the popularity of one of our
most patronised restaurants. This fusion of modern and classic Chinese styles
which is reflected in the design is also a feature of the Golden Leaf's delectable
Cantonese menu, innovatively prepared by master chef So Kai Chiu," Clarke
adds.
The new interior juxtaposes soft hues of caramel, gold, copper and bronze with
traces of vibrant red. Its uniquely Chinese entrance is bold and pronounced,
uniting teakwood and golden leaf panels with black and gold marble flooring.
In the main dining area, paneled walls are upholstered in carnelian and framed
in antique bronze, contrasting perfectly with a Damask-design gold and red carpet.
An oversized Chinoiserie-style screen and further traditional Chinese pieces
are blended with modern seating throughout.
In addition to the main dining area, the Golden Leaf Restaurant boasts three
private rooms, two of which can be opened to form a larger space. This unique
feature offers business and leisure guests alike the ideal backdrop for a private
dining experience.
Recognised as one of Hong Kong's finest restaurants, the Golden Leaf seats close
to 90 guests and offers the finest in authentic Cantonese cuisine.
