Bengal Shelter appoints Feedback Ventures for projects

Kolkata-based Bengal Shelter Housing Development has appointed Feedback Ventures consulting house to prepare a business plan for two of its key proposed projects - a retirement village and a chain of budget hotels in West Bengal.

Debasish Som, former IAS officer and president, Group Business Development (Eastern Region) of Feedback Ventures, says, "Project Rainbow, the cluster of state-of-the-art retirement

villages will target active retirees in the age group of 55+, international clientele, NRIs and Indian senior citizens of higher income group." Bolpur, Mayapur, Siliguri, Durgapur, Chandannagar, Shankarpur and Rajarhat have been identified as the initial locations.

Says Samar Nag, MD of Bengal Shelter Housing Development, "Our proposed chain of budget hotels has a lot of employment potential for young Bengal. They will be built at the same locations or nearby urban centres, upcoming business centres and prominent tourist spots with historical and religious significance. Kalimpong, Siliguri, Singur, Malda, Beharampur, Krishnanagar/Mayapur, Shankarpur, Rajarhat airport, Chandannagar, Bishnupur and Madurdaha are the initial set of locations identified for the budget hotels."
