LMIHMCT: A premier institute of hospitality management

Lourdes Matha Institute of Hotel Management and Catering Technology (LMIHMCT) is a premier institute of hospitality management, the first and only one of its kind in south Kerala, offering a four year (eight semester) professional degree course, affiliated to the University of Kerala and approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (ministry of HRD, Government of India), New Delhi.

(LMIHMCT) belongs to the Lourdes Matha Catholic Educational Society, Thiruvanathapuram, established in 2002. Located at Kuttichal, a rustic village on the outskirts of Thiruvanathapuram, approximately 25 kilometres away from the hectic activities and the fitful fevers of the city, the college has a spacious campus of 25 acres of land, with a very fresh, calm and naturally adorned ambience, which motivates the students to pursue their studies and other creative activities with ease, peace and force. The scenic beauty and virgin surroundings of the picturesque lush green plantations in the back drop of the misty western ghats and the serene, tranquil hillock provide a perfect environment most suitable for serious student- activities. The institute is equipped with different laboratories like basic training kitchen, quantity kitchen, advanced kitchen, training restaurant with 30 covers, housekeeping laboratories, laundry, guestrooms for training, front office laboratory with different sections of the front office department.

The institute has a well-experienced faculty, guided by Prof. Thomas Chacko, former senior faculty of the Institute of Hotel Management and Catering Technology, Kovalam, who have meritorious international exposure and experience in industry as well.
