Continental India join club of national awardees

Continental Equipment India Pvt. Ltd. was recently awarded the prestigious National Award for excellence in entrepreneurship by the President of India Dr A P J Abdul Kalam. The award was received by R Kumar, chairman of Continental Equipment India Pvt. Ltd.

The award has been instituted by the government of India as a 'National Award for Research and Development Efforts in Small Scale Industries'. Its objective is to encourage in-house R&D efforts and qualitative development on small scale industries (SSI). Awardees are selected after extensive scrutiny - first at the state level and then at the national level committees set up under the chairmanship of Secretary Industries and Additional Secretary & Development Commissioner (SSI), Ministry of SSI, Government of India.

The award won by Continental India not only recognises the efforts of R Kumar in making it a renowned company in India and throughout the world, but also the entire Food Service Equipment Industry at large. The food service equipment industry has been making great efforts in serving the hospitality industry and thus seeking recognition.
