IDP Australia Promotes Hospitality Education

Representative of more than 40 institutes, under the banner IDP Education Australia,
recently visited the country to promote their educational institutes and interview
interested Indian students.
We are here to inform Indian students about our higher education system
and facilities available in our country. Indian students are talented and we
would love to see more Indian students in our universities, said Henry
Ledlie, director of IDP.
Prominent among the insitutes are University of Canberra, University of Western
Sydney, James Cook University and Australian National University.
They are offering both undergraduate and postgraduate courses in marketing and
business management, resort management, gastronomic, software technology, travel
and tourism, fine arts and many other courses.
Currently around 21,000 Indian students are studying in Australia. According
to an IDP estimate, Australia will soon have more than 80,000 students from
India alone.
The representatives first visited New Delhi, after which they will move to Chandigarh,
Ahmedabad, Mumbai, Bangalore, Chennai and Hyderabad. The current selection process
is for admission into Februray-March 2006 session in Australia.
The IDP Education Australia is an independent body and is currently working
in collaboration with Australian Trade Commission. At present it is operating
in 54 countries.
