Brunch Of Six

Brunch celebrations are getting more and more popular. The latest such event was an exhibition of fine art photography called Six, presented by Giordano timewear, at Zenzi. This high noon show supported by The Photographers' Guild of India, featured the works of six accomplished photographers: Ashok Salian, Jagdish Mali, Suresh Natrajan, Israr Qureshi, Sharvini Patel and Jatin Kampani.

These glamour photographers attracted the likes of quite a few glamorous ladies like Mandira Bedi, Ujjwala Raut, Shyla Lopez, Sheetal Mallar, Aditi Govitrikar, Achala Sachdev, Pooja Misra, Chesz Shetty, Sharon Prabhakar and Pooja Bhatt. Artists who attended included Kahini Arte Merchant, Jitish Kallat, Arzan Khambatta and Brinda Miller. The drink of the day was Foster's beer as well as the extensive food spread that completed the afternoon session.

Kitchen Hot

Re-invention is the game of the game when it comes to menu offerings. Olive bar and kitchen introduced its new menu at a special preview. Bombay's bold and the beautiful were there in full force including Pooja Bedi, Shekhar Suman, Suneeta Rao, Anaida, Suchitra Pillai and husband Lars, Kim Sharma, Zeba Kohli, Vikram Chandra, Ash Chandler, Nethra Raghuraman, Reshma Bombaywala, Marc Robinson, Fahad Samar and Tania Zaetta.

On the menu were appetizers, pastas, risotto and exciting entrees. Chef Evan's new menu is believed to combine fresh and authentic Continental flavours with exciting regional ingredients - making you think of the whispers of sun-kissed Mediterranean coastlines and Neapolitan songs.

Tribe Vibe

On the art front city folks had a view at the folk and tribal art works at Tao art gallery. This was a refreshing change from the usual hyped up exhibitions at some of the art galleries around town. What you saw were works by artists Jayshree Patankar, Ventakraman Singh and Ramesh Gorjala - purposeful and non-commercial works. Dazzling details, bold strokes and unusual emotions came to the fore on preview evening. You did not see the usual suspects but those genuinely fond of good art. Kudos to Kalpana Shah of Tao art gallery. It was felt that relatively unknown tribal and folk artists should be encouraged instead of just the usual bunch of well-known established commercial artists.

Scented Duck

Mandarina Duck is a migratory bird, which also lends its name to a new fresh fragrance for women, launched at Lush recently. The event directed by Marc Robinson and supported by Nisha Jamvwal saw models Candice Pinto, Diandra Soares, Fleur Xavier, Tapur and Tupur Chatterjee all dressed in yellow and white, depicting the colours of the brand. Mandarina Duck, which they claim, is provocative and innovative is meant for everyday use.

It is aimed at an optimistic, practical, enthusiastic and sensitive woman. Mario Mouro of Idesa Parfums was there as also Mike Bhojwani of Cosmos Brands International. Guests included Shilpa Shetty, Rocky S, Sonali and Roopkumar Rathod, Poonam Soni and Tanaaz Currim.
