Malaysia Experiences Flavours Of India

EH&C Staff - Kolkata

The City Bay View Hotel at Penang, Malaysia recently hosted a 12-day fiesta celebrating the Indian food. Representing India will be a team from Kenilworth Hotel, Kolkata.

Through this festival, the hotel has the opportunity to boost in-bound tourism to West Bengal. Supporting this initiative, Dinesh Dakua, Hon'ble Minister of Tourism, West Bengal commented at the conference, "If Malaysians really like the Indian food at this festival, they might just visit the country looking for the same thing."

This entire exercise was initiated by Jet Setters, a Kolkata-based tour operator, who approached the City Bay View hotel with the idea of this festival. The participating team from The Kenilworth included Kaushik Ghosh, resident manager, Bipul Roy, food & beverage manager, Sunil Gomes, executive chef, Kuntal Das, demi chef-de-parte and Sandip Nag, demi chef-de-parte. The chefs showcased 12 different menus representative of the diverse nature of Indian tastes, including a wide variety of the salads, dals and rotis.
