Rodas Celebrates Environment Week
Rodas, the designer ecotel in Mumbai celebrated 'Eco-Week'
recently during which, the entire team at the hotel urged
the local people and guests alike to join in the ecology conservation
drive.
On 'world no tobacco day' people were requested not to smoke especially in public
areas. There was a silent protest against smoking by turning all the ashtrays
in the hotel upside down. Also guests were encouraged to throw their cigarette
packs in the dustbin and those who did so were publicly applauded.
During the course of the entire week, guests were encouraged to reduce wastage
of water and electricity. Simple measures such as closing the water taps when
not in use; segregating wet and dry garbage at source; avoiding wastage of food
and also carrying an eco-friendly cloth bag for shopping to reduce usage of
plastic bags will be advised. Besides this the green team of the hotel led by
executive chef Nilesh Limaye organised a unique eco-cooking contest using organic
vegetables to prepare dishes like salads, sandwiches etc.
