Taj, Oberoi, Leela Opt Out Of Bekal
Three of the six hotel companies who were to develop resorts at Kasargod’s Bekal beach in Kerala have decided to shelve their plans of setting up beach resorts at the destination. The Taj group, Oberoi group and Hotel Leelaventure are the three companies backing out of the Bekal project.

Synthite Plans Expansion Of Its Apartment Hotel Concept
Synthite Group of Companies is planning to take its apartment hotel concept to Munnar and Bangalore within the next two years.

Infra Housing Diversifies Into Hospitality
Infra Housing Pvt Ltd, a firm engaged in the real estate business in Kochin has finalised plans to diversify into the hospitality business. The promoters have launched a hotel company christened Infra Hotels and Resorts Ltd and will enter the apartment hotels and resorts segment soon.

Net Profits For Hotels To Rise In Q4: Assocham Survey
The Associated Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Assocham) in a study have said that hotel companies across India will continue to be top performers in the fourth quarter of the 2004-05 fiscal year. Other than hotels the study also said steel, cement and the Information Technology (IT) will be the sectors that are likely to outperform others, both in terms of net profit and sales in their annual results which will be released along with their Q4 results soon.
