Mist Opens At The Park, New Delhi
EH&C Staff - New Delhi
After the successful opening of Fire and Agni last year, The Park, New Delhi
recently opened Mist, the 132-seater all-day dining restaurant. Mist was earlier
Portico, the 24-hour coffee shop that has been completely renovated.
The outlet has a predominantly Italian menu. An average main course menu has
been priced at Rs 400 plus taxes per person. The furniture chosen also makes
reference to Italian designs of the 50s and 60s.
Says Mohit Sharma, director food and beverage, The Park, New Delhi, "This
is part of the hotel's first phase of renovation that will be completed by October
2005. We are targeting primarily local corporate, the in-house clients and socially
active people for this new restaurant."
Designed by Conran & Partners, UK, the design and décor is the main
USP of Mist. The restaurant opens into the outdoor pool creating a feeling of
the expanse.
Sharma is upbeat that Mist will offer its guests cutting edge international
experience. He is confident of increasing his food and beverage revenue substantially.
"Cost effectiveness, less stiffness in style of service and ambience differentiates
Mist from other restaurants. The product is strong and is likely to create a
niche for itself in the market. With the opening of this restaurant, we are
expecting 100 per cent increase in revenue this year," he concludes.
