HTI Turns Three

Holds Kesari-HTI Telly Games To Mark The Celebration

EH&C Staff - Mumbai

The Hospitality Training Institute (HTI), Mumbai recently celebrated its third anniversary by organising the Kesari-HTI Telly Games, which centred on the theme, ‘Fun, Fitness and Friendship’. The students arranged an innovative line-up of games and invited various hospitality-related organisations to participate. Teams that showed up and participated in the various events included JW Marriott, Ramee Guestline, Intercontinental The Grand, P&O Cruises, Kesari Tours, Trainers Forum, HTI’s ex-students and Fame Adlabs.

Commenting on the event Dominic Costabir, director projects, HTI says, “The hospitality industry is always busy making others happy and often forget to simply let their hair down and enjoy themselves. Hence we thought about ways to express our appreciation to the industry for consistently absorbing all our students, and we came up with the idea of organising a day of fun filled activities.”

Gladvin Rego, director training, HTI, conducted the various games which had the supporters and spectators rolling over with laughter and cheering wildly for their respective teams. The games included water braving obstacles, kneading dough while blind folded, passing polo using a toothpick held between pursed lips, picking peanuts using straws and even included a host of physical games like the tug-of-war and a sack race.

The prizes and gifts included watches, cookware, perfumes, DVDs, CDs, T-shirts, toiletries, food hampers and cash which amounted to approximately Rs 1 lakh. These prizes were distributed to the winners after every game, as well as to the team that won overall. J W Marriott walked away with the first prize and Fame Adlabs came in at a close second.

Sudhir Patil, director, Kesari, concluded by saying, “I enjoyed watching the games so much that next year, I am definitely going to participate in the event. Kesari Tours is already looking forward to promoting this event on a larger and grander scale.”
