Ramanashree To Enter Budget Segment With Red Mount

Vyas Sivanand - Bangalore

Ramanashree Group of Hotels is launching a new chain in the budget segment under the brand name Red Mount. The first hotel, to be set up in Bangalore, will be operational by end of February 2005.

Revealing this to Express Hotelier & Caterer, Veerendra Shadakshari, director - operations, Ramanashree Group of Hotels said, "Red Mount is a brand new concept and a separate branding of its own. The Red Mount brand talks of grace in simplicity with stress on right location, right facilities and right pricing." The funding is through financial institutions and pricing would be on a two-star level ranging from Rs 800 and above.

The first Red Mount hotel will have 50 well appointed rooms and will focus on budget travellers. The emphasis will be to make a mark in the market with quality rooms. "There will be a facility for family rooms also which is basically a large room for an entire family to stay together. The toilet facilities in this room have been made in such a way that three people can utilise the facilities at the same time with total privacy," said Shadakshari.

The hotel will be having a multi cuisine restaurant serving North Indian, South Indian, Chinese and continental. A banquet hall accommodating 200 persons and another for 25-30 persons has also been stitched into the facility.

Commenting on the expansion, Shadakshari said, "Initially the response in the market with this special branding has to be analysed. On the basis of that we will go ahead with the same concept in other parts of Karnataka. The target clientele is the travelling professional, distributors of various products, small and medium businessmen and of course the tourists."

"Red Mount would serve clean, hygienic, sumptuous, quality food. In future, if there is a need for a theme or a speciality cuisine, we may think of outsourcing as an alternative," said Shadakshari.

Ramanashree Group of Hotels' portfolio currently includes Ramanashree Bangalore, Ramanashree Brunton, Ramanashree Mysore and a resort club California Resort at Yelahanka in Bangalore. Ramanashree Rang Mahal, another resort club, will be opening shortly at Bannerghata Road in Bangalore.
