82.45 Per Cent Average Occupancy In January For Mumbai's Five-Stars

Five-star category hotels of Mumbai are rocking as never before, according to an occupancy report of January 2005. The report, which Express Hotelier & Caterer obtained through its sources, indicate an average occupancy of 82.45 per cent for five-stars in the metropolis.

North Mumbai properties had an average occupancy of 84.71 per cent, ARR of Rs 5,427 and RevPAR of Rs 4,597, while the five-star hotels in the South did an average occupancy of 77.54 per cent, ARR of Rs 6,632 and Revpar of Rs 5,143. Of the total Mumbai market share, the North Mumbai properties in the category have garnered 70.40 per cent while South Mumbai accounted for only 29.60 per cent.

Leading the top performers is Taj Lands End with an occupancy of 101.25 per cent. In second place is JW Marriott Hotel with an occupancy of 91.46 per cent; followed by The Orchid with 89.93 per cent.

In the 'first from the last' list of performers is Grand Hyatt Apartments with an average occupancy of 63.31, followed by The Oberoi with 71.43 per cent and The Leela with 73.44 per cent.
