Hospitality World To Feature Indias First Ever HCIMA Seminar
Hospitality World 2005 will feature Indias first ever Hotel and Catering
International Management Association (HCIMA) seminar. The HCIMA India and Sri
Lanka Chapters have pledged support for the seminar and a large number of HCIMA
members (top hospitality professionals) from both countries are expected to
attend.
Management in a Globalised Market is the key focus of the HCIMA
seminar which is further categorised into three sessions with topics on franchising,
management contracts and building a superior brand in global arena. In the first
session, Philippe Rossiter, FHCIMA, worldwide chief executive, HCIMA London
will be the keynote speaker. Other speakers at the sessions will be Peter Aust,
FHCIMA, ambassador Indian subcontinent and vice-chairman, RMS Resorts and Hotels;
Param Kannampilly, FHCIMA, chairman, HCIMA India Chapter and director, Concept
Hospitality; Paddy Withana, chairman, HCIMA Sri Lanka Chapter; Charles Bonificio,
vice-chairman, HCIMA Goa International Group and president, Travel and Tourism
Association of Goa.
Express Hotelier & Caterer - a bonafide business affiliate of HCIMA, has
been instrumental in establishing Indias first ever HCIMA Chapter - the
HCIMA Western India Chapter. There is also the HCIMA Goa International Group
and the soon to be launched HCIMA North India Chapter and HCIMA South India
Chapter. India accounts for over 300 HCIMA members.
HCIMA is an international body based in United Kingdom (UK) that promotes the
highest professional standards of management and education in the international
hospitality industry. It consists of hospitality professionals from the top-level
management of hotel operations and education. Since its inception in 1971, the
objective of the association has been to ensure that every practising manager
in the hospitality industry be a member of the association, to win recognition
for managers throughout the hospitality industry in order to represent their
views and lobby on their behalf, to help members develop and maintain their
knowledge, skills and ability, to provide an interface between education and
industry, to set recognised educational standards and assist in the mobility
and recruitment of labour and to enhance members career prospects. Today
the Association has 27 UK Branches and 17 International Groups. Members of the
Association are represented in all sectors of the industry including hotels,
contract catering companies, restaurants, pubs and clubs, as well as leisure
outlets, theme parks and sports venues.
The seminar is open to hospitality professionals on an invitation
basis.
