Cleantec Hospitality Services Awarded ISO 9001:2000 Certificate

EH&C Staff - Mumbai

Cleantec Hospitality Services Pvt Ltd, which defines itself as a total cleaning solutions company has recently been awarded the ISO 9001:2000 certificate. The company which has been incorporated under the companies act 1956, deals in housekeeping and other allied services to corporates, call centres, housing societies, hotels, educational institutions etc.

Speaking about the plans and developments of the company, KJ Jolly, director - operations, said, “Our aim is to provide complete cleaning solutions for the Indian hospitality segment. With state-of-the-art equipment, well-trained manpower and highly effective cleaning agents, we assure high quality service to our clients. There is a huge market for our area of specialisation, but India still has to take up hygiene and cleanliness aspects with greater seriousness. India is extremely negligent when it comes to preventive maintenance. The concept of break-down main- tenance is still what we bank on. This kind of attitude has to change.

Apart from providing cleaning solutions, the company also aims to conduct regular workshops on hygiene and cleanliness measures and conduct training programmes for the same. “People in India, still consider the work of a cleaning solutions company as that of a menial task. We have done our bit to wipe out these mental blocks, as cleaning today is a hi-tech and highly professional endeavour especially for top of the line offices, areas etc,” adds Jolly.

The company at present has close to 1,000 employees spread across cities. They also have a separate training department for the personnel to have latest updates on cleaning equipment and the methods to use them. In-house training is provided to the staff which includes both supervisors and housemen. The training schedules cover the following areas, namely, cleanliness, grooming, hygiene, personal etiquette, usage of chemicals, general housekeeping schedules, use of specialised equipment.

“On completion of a specified number of training sessions, periodical tests are conducted and grading given. Successful candidates also receive certificates in recognition of the successful completion of the training,” informed Jolly. Eventually, Cleantec is aiming to set up its own training institute.

The company was set up five years ago in February 1999, with its base in Mumbai. Apart from K J Jolly as the director-operations, the company has has two other directors N Rajagopal director - marketing and S G Krishnan director - finance. The company at present has offices in Chennai, Bangalore, Gurgaon, Hyderabad, Indore and Lonavala.
