Indus Cruising Launches Division For Hospitality Placements

Ashish K Tiwari - Mumbai

In a bid to enhance its position in the market, Indus Cruising & Shipping Pvt Ltd (ICSPL), currently headquartered in Mumbai and specialising in recruiting for cruise lines, has launched a separate division focusing exclusively on offering placement services to all sections of the industry, viz hotels, restaurants, fast food outlets and chains, entertainment centres and multiplex complexes, and other foodservice companies.

Aspi Nallaseth, the newly appointed vice-president of Indus Cruising & Shipping Pvt Ltd

Speaking to Express Hotelier & Caterer, Aspi Nallaseth, the newly appointed vice-president of Indus Cruising & Shipping Pvt Ltd, said, “Indus Cruising has been in the business of catering to the manpower requirements of the cruise industry for quite some time now. Having gained necessary expertise in that area, diversification was but obvious. And to offer our personnel placement services to the hotel industry in India and overseas, we have launched a separate division christened ‘Purple Patch Pvt Ltd - A Hotel Solutions Company’.”

Nallaseth has a long track record (over three decades) working at various levels in the hospitality industry including city hotels, holiday resorts, fine dining restaurants, industrial catering establishments, fast food chains and clubs in India, Europe, West Africa and Middle-East. He will also lead the business area of Purple Patch Pvt Ltd. Apart from providing qualified and experienced candidates for all levels in a hotel, restaurant, etc, the new division will specialise in solving staffing problems, particularly in senior management positions.

Another development with ICSPL is the relocation of their Mumbai head office and Indus Cruising Culinary Institute to Bangalore. Located in Gurgaon, the institute started operations in October 1999 and trains Indian kitchen and service staff in the style and specifics of the highly specialised format of international cruise catering, with special emphasis on kitchen training for continental cooks.

ICSPL has offices in Delhi, Chennai, Mumbai, Goa and Kolkata, and representatives in Kathmandu and Dubai. The recruitment company has been handling staffing requirements for companies like Carnival Cruise Lines, Cunard, Seven Seas Cruises, Apollo Ship Chandlers, Costa Cruises and Island Cruise Services amongst others.
