Book Launch, Hi-Tech Event For Taj Centenary
Reema
Sisodia - Mumbai
The
centenary celebrations of Taj Mahal, Mumbai, the flagship property
of the Indian Hotel Company Ltd, will see a series of events commencing
third week of January 2003. These include a book and film on events
and stories associated with the Taj and a hi-tech event along with
a host of entertainment programmes.
The
film, scripted by Roshan Seth and being shot by Zafar Hai, is based
on a book written by Sharada Dwivedi and Charles Allen. The book
will be launched in April 2003 while the film is scheduled for a
premiere in February and will be screened in Taj properties based
in metropolises across the country.
A
special hi-tech event is also scheduled to be held as an inauguration
for the centenary celebrations. Ravi Dubey, senior vice-president
corporate affairs/projects, The Indian Hotels Co Ltd, said,
All I can divulge is that it will be a hi-tech event along
with a host of entertainment programmes. Apart from the film, book
launch and the inauguration programme, the Taj Group has undergone
a major revamp exercise especially in the area of F&B. Renovations
and refurbishment activities have taken place in a number of chains
across the country to give the brand a new look.
