Anindita Chattopadhyay - New Delhi

Delhi will soon gets its first resort. Silverlink Holdings, owners of Aman Resorts, which bagged the ITDC-owned Lodi Hotel through competitive bidding, is now demolishing the property to set up a resort. Aman Resorts owns, manages and markets small luxury resorts worldwide. In fact, Aman Resorts boasts of the highest room rates in the world travel market.

Since 1988, when their flagship resort, Amanpuri, opened in Phuket, Thailand, Aman Resorts has added hotels in Indonesia, Philippines, France, North Africa, Mexico, the United States and French Polynesia. “Each resort is unique and offers an exclusive experience. The Delhi resort will also be a property with a difference," said a source. Refusing to divulge details because the property is still in the planning stage, he said, “The resort will definitely have a spa and there will be a tie-up with Delhi Golf Club to ensure golfing facilities to guests.”

Certain elements characterise all Aman Resorts properties, which include a beautiful natural setting, outstanding facilities, exceptional service catering to individual traveller and a small number of rooms to ensure exclusivity, he stated.
