Hospitality Franchise India (HFI) 2003, the first-ever seminar dedicated to franchising in the Indian hospitality industry, will be held on January 17 at the World Trade Centre, Mumbai. The event, organised by Express Hotelier & Caterer, is being held in conjunction with the Express Hotelier & Caterer Trade Show, India’s biggest hospitality trade event, where it will have a special pavilion. The seminar will be held on the second day of the three-day trade show, dated January 16-18, 2003.

The subjects to be discussed at the day-long seminar are:

  • Franchising - the emerging business model
  • Franchising v/s management contract - the ownership issue
  • Understanding your franchise agreement (legal)
  • Jumping on the brand wagon - a financial and customer perspective
  • Selling Indian franchise internationally
  • Franchising in heritage hotels

Invited speakers include industry luminaries such as M Narayanan of Tourism Finance Corporation of India, Anil Madhok and Ajay Bakaya of Sarovar Park Plaza Hotels and Resorts, Amit Jatia of Hardcastle Restaurants, Sandeep Gupta of Choice Hospitality (India), Param Kannampilly of Concept Hospitality, Vithal Kamat of The Orchid Hotel, Rakesh Mathur of WelcomHeritage, Rajeev Chopra of Residency Hotels, Vijay Thacker of Horwath Consultants India, Homi Aibara of Mahajan and Aibara, legal experts Kanga and Company and Romesh Koul of Howard Johnson Hotels & Inns.

HFI ‘03 was conceived to cater to the growing demand for authoritative and reliable information on franchising, widely considered to be the fastest emerging segment in Indian hospitality.

In its established role, derived from nine continuous year in print, as a facilitator of the hospitality industry, Express Hotelier & Caterer aims to clear all doubts with carefully chosen subjects, expert speakers and an intensive format. The seminar will deliver a valuable exchange of insights, case studies, various franchise models and its legalities.
