Radico Bags Four Alcobev Society Awards

Radico Khaitan Ltd walked away with top honours at the Alcobev Society Awards held recently at Hyatt Regency Mumbai. The company bagged four awards out of a total of seven including the Legends Award conferred on Lalit Khaitan, chairman and managing director, Radico Khaitan Ltd for his contribution to the Indian liquor industry. Millionaire Brand Award (brands which crossed sale of million cases this year) for Contessa Rum and 8 PM Whisky and Best Packaging Award for Special Appointment Whisky were the other awards won by Radico Khaitan Ltd.

The other winners at the third edition of Alcobev Society Awards were Dr Mohan Krishna, deputy general manager-strategic planning, Shaw Wallace Breweries Ltd, who won the Alcobev Industry Research Award; Tilak Nagar Industries Ltd, which bagged the Alcobev Beverage Industry Award; Fiber Foils Ltd won the Packaging Support Award; BDA Ltd won the Millionaire Brand Award for its Officers Choice Prestige Whisky and Social Contribution Award for instating awards to honour unsung civilian heroes.

A two day liquor exhibition featuring liquor majors like Shaw Wallace, Radico Khaitan Ltd, UDV, Bacardi, Tilak Nagar Industries, BDA etc plus companies from packaging industries along with a day long conference on the liquor industry was also organised by TEFLA at the hotel. The keynote address-Global Trends, Understanding the Changing Consumer Patterns was delivered by Val Smith, chairman, International Wine and Spirit Record (IWSR), London, who was also the guest of honour for the event.

Strategies for marketing new liquor brands in India by Dr Krishna, consumer trends shaping the spirit business by R Vaziraney, vice-president sales, Radico Khaitan Ltd, emerging trends in Packaging by Deepak Doctoria, branch sales manager, ITC Packaging and Printing division, Liquor and Society-a police view point by AS Samra IPS (retd) ex-director general of police Maharashtra and liquor and society-a sociologist viewpoint by Prof G G Wankhade, head of dept sociology TATA Institute of Social Sciences were the other papers presented at the conference.
