Leisure Hours Launched In Bangalore

Lakshman V - Bangalore

After Cafe Coffee Day and Barista, it is now the turn of library cafe’s to woo customers with a service of different kind. In an attempt to catch up on the spurt in cafe culture in the silicon valley, a city-based entrepreneur has come up with a new concept cafe replete with library cum home theatre.

Says Subash Mahbubani, managing director, Leisure Hours and the man behind the novel concept, “The idea is to offer a memorable experience to all our discerning customers. It’s been six months since the launch and the response has been overwhelming. The cafe is now fully operational offering a wide array of delicacies and beverages. There was a dire need for concept cafe of this kind, as the cafe outlets in the city had too little to offer other than drinks and beverages. In order to be more articulate in our services, entry in the library cafe is restricted to members only.

Targeted at the up-market clientele, this new concept cafe boasts of an exquisitely designed bar counter with six bar stools and comfortable seating on handcrafted velvet covered sofas on which customers can relax. This apart, the cafe has an entertainment section, which includes books, videos, home theatre all under one roof to keep a customer enthralled during his visit at the cafe.

The entertainment section encompasses a state-of-the-art home theatre system with digital surround sound and a jumbo high gain screen. The ambience and decor of the ambience are designed in such a way as to usher in a sense of belonging to the members.”

Gulu Assomul, director, F&B, has come up with a wide array of delicacies. The menu list includes espresso, cappuccino, frozen blue curacao with gourmet ice-creams, sundaes, snacks and desserts. This apart, a number of imported magazines are made available in the library, so that the member can browse through them while sipping a cup of coffee. “We have also entered into a strategic alliance with Food World chain of supermarkets. To begin with the book and movie library kiosks will be opened in the food world stores at Wheeler road and Cunningham Road outlets,” Subhas added.
